A tool does nothing or changes the wrong area

  1. Confirm the selected layer in Layers.
  2. Check that it is visible and unlocked.
  3. Check for an active selection restricting the operation.
  4. Check whether you are editing the mask instead of the layer.
  5. Check opacity, tool size and the document color mode.
  6. Read the status message for unsupported operations or processing progress.

Try the same operation on a duplicate in a small test document. This helps distinguish a document-specific limitation from a tool problem without risking the original.

Imported text cannot be edited or looks different

Inspect the layer type. Rasterized lettering is an image, not editable text. A PSD can contain a rendered text preview without usable editable type data. Do not simply add new words over the original unless you also intend to hide or replace the old pixels.

If text is editable but wraps differently, inspect the font family, style, size, tracking and line spacing. Missing fonts or unsupported typography can change the appearance. Preserve the original PSD when compatibility matters.

A model or large operation is taking a long time

First-use selection analysis may need a model download. Look at the progress and error message before retrying. A network blocker can prevent that download even though your image is processed locally. Large layers and multiple open documents also increase memory use.

Save your work, close unnecessary documents and try a smaller copy to isolate the issue. Cancel a running operation if a cancel control is available. Do not repeatedly start the same operation while the previous one is still running.

Recovery or saving failed

If browser storage reports a quota error, download a PSD before making other changes. Free storage only after you have a usable copy. Browser recovery is not synchronized between devices or between localhost and the public domain.

If a download does not appear, check the browser’s download list and any permission prompt. If export fails, keep the layered PSD, try a smaller copy or a simpler output format, and inspect the error. Do not overwrite your only source file while diagnosing a problem.

Make a useful bug report

Record your browser and version, document dimensions and color depth, file format, selected layer type, tool settings, exact steps and the error text. Include a screenshot of the Layers panel and relevant controls. Test with a non-sensitive sample you can share; avoid including private photos or file contents unnecessarily.
